A few statistics:
- 70% of our tutors have an advanced degree in their tutoring field, or are currently pursing a graduate degree at a rigorous university.
- 50% of our tutors are certified teachers.
- 100% of our tutors have degrees from great colleges and universities.
On average, we invite only one out of every 12 applicants for an interview. During the interview, applicants are asked thought-provoking questions, and their responses are carefully judged. At the same time, we evaluate the applicants’ demeanor; our tutors are not only highly intelligent, they are also personable, patient, and enthusiastic.
We find that not all prospective tutors who are gifted intellectually can tutor effectively, because they may not be patient or know how to explain material to the appropriate audience. Therefore, we seek more than high intelligence in an applicant; we make sure that the candidates aren’t just familiar with the material and know how to solve the problems – but that they also know how to tutor most effectively.
