Alexandra has a masters in special ed from Johns Hopkins university and a BA in history from Colgate university  She is certified to teach elementary education, English 4-9 and social studies 4-9 in Maryland.  She was a special ed teacher for two years in Philadelphia at a private school.  She taught students with moderate to severe ASD for 6 months in Kennedy Krieger School in Rockville. She tutored for 3 years children grades 1-12 in general homework help, organizational skills, reading, writing and math.

Amy has a Masters in Elementary Education from San Jose State University and a RSA Cambridge Certificate in TEFL to Adults.  She has a BA in sociology from San Francisco State University.  She’s been teaching elementary school in Live oak School District in Santa Cruz California for 8 years.

Bianca has a BA in ecology from Princeton University, graduated in 2011.  She tutored children from ages 5 to 16 with science, math, English, reading comprehension and SAT prep.

Brook has a masters of arts in French language from U of MD/CP.  She has a BA in French language from U of MD/CP.  She spent one year at the University of Nice in a study abroad program.  She was the language house immersion program graduate coordinator at U of MD, a graduate teaching assistant at University of Maryland where she taught intro and intermediate French.

Carol has a BA in Spanish literature, graduated cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University and has a masters of arts in teaching in Spanish from Colgate University, graduated with distinction.  She was a teaching fellow in Spanish literature at GW University.  She taught high school and college Spanish language and literature for 10 years.  She tutored at the Bullis School, at American University, and George Washington University and kids from about age 12 and up through college.  She also tutors the SAT verbal.

Dan F. has a BA in English from Yale in 2009.   He was a private tutor for a company called PJL Educational Services in New York, where he tutored middle school students in English, math, French, history, and science.  Recently he was associate editor and web producer for The Atlantic.

Daniel H. has a Ph.D. degree in geoscience from Penn State University.  He has a BS in chemistry with distinction from Iowa State University and a BS  in geology from Iowa State. He was a teaching assistant at the department of chemistry and department at Iowa State and in the department of geoscience at Penn State.  He also tutored underprivileged Des Moines area high school students in biology, chemistry, and math during a summer program.

Daniel K. has a BA in French Literature from the University of Notre Dame and is now pursuing a master of arts in international affairs at George Washington University.  He spent two years in France and two years in Belgium.  He taught English in France for a year and also tutored French to his fellow students in college.  He was a private Latin and Greek tutor in Indiana for a year doing both introductory and advanced levels.

Danny Z. has a BS in math from California State Polytechnic University.  He tutored math through calculus BC and SAT math for Ivy league Institution in Rowland heights, CA. for 3 years.

Dina has a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California at San Diego, and a BA from Rutgers University in chemistry.  She has been a private tutor in Montgomery County for the last 10 years, and taught a 9-week SAT prep course for Test Smart.  She also worked for Basics & Beyond Learning Center in NJ where she prepared students for SAT and taught college level mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Elsie has a Masters in Education and human development in special education from GW University.  She has a BA in special education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She taught special education at Children’s Guild in Chillum, MD in a combined K-3 classroom. She was a special ed teacher at Rockledge Elementary in Bowie, MD for 3 years and at West High School in Madison WI.  She taught fourth and fifth grade in Madison, WI and at Georgia O’Keefe Middle School in Madison.  She also taught ESOL at Berlitz Language Camp in Italy.

Emily has a BA in Spanish from the University of Richmond.  Emily was a teaching assistant of Spanish at the University of Richmond.  She led twice-weekly oral practice sessions completely in Spanish.   She’s tutored up to Spanish AP privately.

Germaine has a BA in biochemistry from Smith College and is preparing for medical school.  She was a volunteer tutor at Northampton High School in Massachusetts in biology, chemistry and physics.  She tutored organic chemistry, cell biology and immunology to peers at Smith College.  She volunteered at the science learning center at Germantown Maryland for a year where she tutored biology, organic chemistry, physics and general chemistry.

Hee has a BS in life science from Penn State and a Masters in biochemistry from Georgetown.  She was a valedictorian in high school and got 800/800 on all her math and science SAT and SAT II tests.  She taught and tutored SAT prep for a couple of companies and tutored biology and chemistry privately.

Jamie has a BA in Chinese mandarin from Latrobe University in Melbourne, Australia, and a graduate diploma in education, specializing in ESL.  She taught Chinese at Mater Academy in Miami for 3 years and in New York at Lycee School in 2011. She also taught Chinese at TALK Education for 1 year.  She taught  ESL at International language business center in Yangon, Myanmar and in high school in Taiwan.  She taught social studies in high school in the Bahamas.

Janet has a MS in special education from the University of Utah, and a post-baccalaureate teacher certification from the University of Massachusetts in multicultural education.  She graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in art history with honors.  She’s certified in Massachusetts for special needs N-9 and in Utah for learning disabilities K-12.  She tutored elementary students in reading and language arts, writing, and study skills.  She is also a freelance writer for educational publishers in areas of reading, language arts, social studies, and mathematics.    She was a special ed teacher at an elementary school in Massachusetts.

Jessica W. has a BS in elementary education from University of Maryland, certified to teach through 6th grade.  She is a teacher at Loiderman Middle School in Silver Spring where she teaches 7th and 8th grade math and English.  She taught at Whetstone Elementary school in Gaithersburg for a year and tutored 5th through 7th graders.

Juan has a BS in applied mathematics from James Madison University with a minor in biology and Spanish.  He was pre-med and is going for a masters degree in bioinformatics and then to medical school.  He tutored math, biochemistry, organic chemistry, English to foreigners, and Spanish.

Julia is a Spanish teacher at The Calverton School in Huntingtown, MD, where she teaches 5 AP Spanish courses.  Julia is working on a masters in Latin American Studies at Georgetown University.  She has a bachelors from Grinnell College in Spanish and Russian.  She studied in Chile for 6 months during college.   She also tutored Russian at Grinnell College student tutoring services.

Kristin has a BA in economics and history from Boston College in 2004.  She is a certified Louisiana secondary teacher.  She worked as a high school mathematics teacher at New Orleans Charter School.  She taught geometry, algebra I and algebra II with honors.  She also taught for Teach for America where she reserved in national service corps or outstanding college graduates from 2004-2006.  She also taught at Walter Cohen Senior high School in New Orleans where she taught also algebra II and geometry.

Laura has a BA in economics from Washington and Lee University.  She is pursuing a M.S. in Statistics at George Mason University. She was a math teacher and coach for 2 years at the Hill School in Middleburg, VA.  She tutored several students for 2 years in SAT prep, algebra I, Algebra II, and pre-calculus.

Louis has a BS in secondary education Spanish from Appalachian State University and a masters in writing from Johns Hopkins University.  He is a Spanish teacher at Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, VA.  He tutors Spanish and SAT verbal for a couple of tutoring companies in Virginia.

Matt G. has a BA in political science from Duke University.  He has a North Carolina teaching license in social studies for grades 9-12.  He tutored for Partners for Success in North Carolina and was a student teacher at Jordan High School in Durham NC.  Right now he is an education analyst at Westat.

Michael C. has a BA in history and BA in Political Science from Syracuse University and a masters of arts in science in teaching secondary social studies from Fordham university in NY.  He taught for Teach for America in NYC for 3 summers.  He was a  Teach for America corps development committee member.    Right now he works for the office of congressman Gregory Meeks in DC as a legislative assistant.

Natalie has a BA in American History and Political Science from Duke University.  She works for a investment bank as an associate.  She tutored History, Government, geometry, and GMAT preparation for a few years. 

Norman has a Masters in Latin and Greek from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and BA in history and English from Concordia College in Minnesota.  He is a Latin Language teacher at the Fairfax County Schools in Chantilly.   He taught Latin in Prince William County for 6 years and was an adjunct professor at Germanna Community College in Latin and Northern Virginia Community College in Greek and Latin, and history at Miami International University of Art and Design.  He taught English and Latin to middle school and high school at Santa Fe Catholic high school.   He taught social studies at Holy Cross Academy in Miami.

Rebecca has a masters in French from Middlebury College in VT and a BA in French from SUNY Buffalo.  She has worked  for 3 years at a French immersion school at Mommy and Me French for Children in Alexandria.  She also taught as a French immersion teacher at Kent Gardens Elementary School in McLean for 7 years where she taught both French and elementary math.  She is licensed to teacher in Virginia

Samuel has a Bachelors in entomology from Cornell University.  He was a student tutor at Cornell where he accumulated almost 4000 hours of community service.  He taught entomology at local elementary, middle and high schools.

Sarah has a Masters in child education from Hunter College and a BA in psychology from Skidmore College, graduated in 2003.  She also has a gifted education certificate.  She worked at Champion Learning in NYC as a private tutor and special education teacher.  She was a 2nd grade gifted and talented classroom teacher in New York from 2006-2008.  Before that she taught at Reuben Gittelman Hebrew Day School in New City, New York from 2003-2004.

Slavik has a BS in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary’s University and a masters in educational leadership from Towson University.  He is certified in elementary and middle school in MD and also in ESOL K-12.  Right now he is an 8th grade science and ESOL teacher at White Oak Middle School and a math and language arts tutor for both elementary and middle school.

Staci has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University. As a Human Development major, she has studied extensively child and adolescent development and education. She graduated n the top 10% of her class.  She was on the Dean’s list for 3 years and an active member of 4 National Honor Societies. At Cornell, she worked as a teaching assistant for 3 undergraduate courses where she also tutored individuals needing extra help. She has interned at a clinic for adults and children suffering from reading disabilities and has worked as a volunteer tutor for inner city children through a community service outreach program. She has worked as a tutor for TutorPro for over 8 years.  She works for the Avid Program at Falls Church High School, a college preparatory course for middle-of-the-road students.  She tutors elementary enrichment, high school writing, middle school academic coaching, and verbal SAT prep.

Stephanie has a masters in Spanish from new Mexico State University and a BA in Spanish from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.   She’s an experienced Spanish tutor, doing tutoring both privately and for Novastar Prep Tutoring and for a community college (Rowan Cabarrus Community College).  Right now she is a Spanish interpreter at CulturaLink for mostly heath-care related situations.

Stuart is a multilinguist.  He has a Masters in Spanish from the University of Missouri, a BA in Russian from the University of Florida, and a certificate in ESOL.  He was an instructor of French and Italian at the University of Texas at El Paso, an instructor of French and Spanish at park University.  He taught Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and ESOL at Hanks high School in El Paso, Texas and at other high schools in Texas and Florida

Susanna has a BA in English from the College of William and Mary, graduated in 2004.  She is pursuing a master of arts in literature at George Mason.  She is an English teacher  in Fairfax now for 6 years, including creative writing and composition.  She tutored elementary through high school students in English, math and SAT prep.

Whitney has a masters in Spanish from American University and a BA in modern languages, Spanish concentration from Winthrop University in SC.  She was a volunteer tutor at Winthrop University after-school program, and did a teaching internship at a couple of high schools in South Carolina.
