We offer personalized, one-on-one SAT preparation
We have tutors who specialize in the Math, Verbal, and Writing sections of the test. We also provide tutoring for the math portion of the GRE, and the math section of the PRAXIS exam. All of our tutors have at least one year of experience tutoring for the SAT exam either privately or through The Princeton Review, Kaplan, and similar test preparation companies.
We employ only the most qualified tutors who have been thoroughly tested in advanced SAT questions. All tutors are graduates of great colleges and universities with rigorous curricula. Our already experienced SAT tutors spend many hours preparing for our tutoring program, and in addition, prepare for each lesson in advance.Every student is treated with respect and a sense of partnership in our shared desire for the student to learn the material and be accepted by the college/s of their choice.
Our Math SAT 800 Book
TutorPro has published a book, “Math SAT 800: How to Master the Toughest Problems.” For detailed information on the book and its authors, please visit the book’s website.
Math SAT 800: How to Master the Toughest Problems contains 425 math SAT problems suited for students who have already taken the SAT or PSAT (or at least a practice SAT test). This book is most appropriate for students who scored 550-600 or higher out of a possible score of 800 on the math portion of the SAT. The chapters in this book will provide ample opportunity to practice only the most difficult problems found on the SAT, rated a 4 or a 5 out of 5 on the Education Testing Service scale of difficulty. The goal of this book is to maximize your score by zeroing in on the most difficult problems that appear on the math section of the SAT exam. This book differs from other SAT books in that it doesn’t spend time on material that high achieving math students are already familiar with. Therefore, this book provides the most efficient way for advanced students to study for the math SAT.
Tutoring for the Math SAT
For Beginning and Intermediate Math SAT Students
We would be happy to work with your child who is either unfamiliar with the test or is in the beginner-to-intermediate level. We offer personalized private instruction. Each student will be provided with a recommendation for a book or two, available at bookstores, that will be most suitable to the student’s specific needs based on a sample test taken during the first session. The first session is 90 minutes long and includes an evaluation and regular tutoring. Subsequent tutoring sessions are 60-120 minutes long.
For Advanced Math SAT Students
Our math SAT tutors will use our published math SAT book, Math SAT 800: How to Master the Toughest Problems, for a high-achieving math student who has already mastered the foundations of SAT math material, but wants extra practice going over only the most difficult problems found on the math section of the SAT. The initial meeting is 90-minutes long, and combines an evaluation and a regular lesson. Subsequent sessions are 60-120 minutes long. Our full 13 private lessons (1 hour each) course covers the whole book.
Verbal/Writing SAT
Our experienced tutor will recommend a book that he or she believes is most suitable considering the student’s specific needs based on a sample test. The first session is 90 minutes long and includes an evaluation and regular tutoring lesson. Subsequent tutoring sessions are 60-120 minutes long. For the writing section, we highly recommend hiring a general writing tutor during the academic year or during the summer, one or two hours per week.
